The Sony Xperia Tablet S was announced in Berlin at IFA 2012 and gives the well received Tablet S a welcome refresh, while retaining its iconic folded-book design.
Measuring in at 241x8.8x174mm, the Sony Xperia Tablet S is thinner and lighter than the original Sony Tablet S, has an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Xperia Tablet S also includes several of Sony's signal processing technologies, such as Clearaudio+ mode so users can experience sound with more clarity, "across a wide spectrum from deep lows to crisp highs".
"Ask Xperia Tablet S to switch on your TV, cable box and home entertainment system, select inputs, adjust volume and more. Everything's executed at a single touch, and up to six macros can be named and stored," Sony said.
Sony said its new Xperia Tablet S will be available from September, but has not announced pricing yet.
